The founder of the Department of Orthopaedics in this hospital is Mr. Chen Min, one of the pioneers who engaged in orthopedics in China in the early days, a famous orthopedic expert in western medicine and a member of the Royal British Medical Association. Mr. Chen Min 194 1 graduated from Peking Union Medical College and was the first technical vice president of Tangshan Second Hospital. He studied under Meng Jimao, one of the founders of orthopedics in China, and Wu Jieping, a famous urologist in China (senior academician of China Academy of Sciences and China Academy of Engineering, former vice chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC) and president of Chinese Medical Association), were classmates and close friends. He has made outstanding contributions to Tangshan's orthopedic cause and is the main founder of Tangshan's orthopedic cause.
