Small coup to raise bougainvillea
Small coup of bougainvillea cultivation: soil preparation, scientific watering, fertilization methods, pruning and shaping.

1, soil preparation

If you want to raise bougainvillea, you need plants to provide fertile, loose and well-drained soil. You can use manure, humus and compost to prepare soil. Bougainvillea cultivated at home can be prepared with garden soil, humus soil and fine sand.

2. Scientific water use

Bougainvillea likes humid environment. In the process of plant maintenance, it is necessary to replenish water in time, especially in hot and dry summer. Water the bougainvillea once every morning and evening to promote the bougainvillea to grow vigorously and bloom brightly, and reduce watering after flowering to avoid water accumulation in the soil.

3. Fertilization method

When curing bougainvillea, ammonia fertilizer should be applied every half month after the climate gets warmer in spring, cake fertilizer and water should be applied weekly in the growing period, and phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be applied in the flowering period to promote the blooming of bougainvillea, and fertilization should be stopped in the low temperature environment in winter.

Step 4 trim and reshape

Bougainvillea needs pruning twice a year, when changing pots or after the flowering of bougainvillea. When pruning, cut off the over-dense branches, long branches, dead branches and weak branches of plants to promote bougainvillea to grow new branches, and pick the plants in July and August to control the growth of bougainvillea.

Growth habit of bougainvillea;

Bougainvillea likes humidity, is afraid of stagnant water, and has high temperature resistance, drought resistance, cold resistance, frost resistance, fertilizer preference and strong barren resistance. It can grow normally in slightly acidic or slightly alkaline soil, and loose soil rich in organic matter is conducive to growth and development, and flowers bloom more and better.

The optimum growth temperature of bougainvillea is 18-30℃, and it will bloom only when the temperature is stable above 15℃. Open flowers can withstand the low temperature of 7- 10℃, and will suffer from low temperature chilling injury below 3℃.

Bougainvillea needs no less than 9 hours of light every day. When the light is sufficient, the plant grows well, with many flowers, bright flowers and long flowering period, otherwise it is easy to fall leaves and wither; Control the light time of the plant at 8-9 hours every day, and the flower buds will bloom after 45 days. Bougainvillea will delay flowering or not bloom under the condition of long-term no light or weak light.
