North China University of Water Resources and Hydropower, referred to as "Huashui", is located in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, on the bank of the Yellow River. It is a key university with characteristics in Henan Province, which is jointly established by the Ministry of Water Resources and Henan Province and mainly managed by Henan Province. It is the leading unit of the "BRICS Network University" in China and a member of the BRICS University Alliance. The school is the first batch of national master's degree awarding units and doctoral degree awarding units, the second batch of "excellent engineer education and training plan" universities of the Ministry of Education, and the national "basic capacity building project of central and western universities". The only university in Henan Province that has the qualification of self-enrollment graduate students and undertakes the national "high-level talent plan for ethnic minorities". The Water Conservancy Training Center of the Ministry of Water Resources, the Open Education Office of the TV University of the Ministry of Water Resources and the Water Conservancy Industry Supervision and Research Center are located in the school.
