How to inherit and develop the classical garden style of China?
Abstract: Due to the time limit of only seeing the classical gardens in China, the upsurge of building western gardens rose in China a few years ago. This paper analyzes the superiority, uniqueness and systematicness of classical gardens, which is worth thinking and exploring. Classical gardens; Western gardens; Limitations; Advantages In recent decades, in the construction of modern gardens, western garden styles prevailed in China, such as road greening, street sketches, big squares and so on. All these have a strong western garden color, and the traditional garden style has been seriously challenged. This style reached its peak at the beginning of this century, and the traditional art of classical gardens in China has been hard to trace. That we have to think about the reasons? How to change its present situation and inherit the superiority of classical gardens? There are many examples of China imitating western gardens, not without reason. China classical gardens do have their limitations. The royal gardens in the north, even if they are as big as the summer resort and the Summer Palace, are only for a few people to live and play. Private gardens in the south are surrounded by high walls for family and friends to play and live in. Classical gardens are mostly private gardens, and ordinary people can't go in and out at will. Temple gardens belong to public gardens, and are generally places where literati gather to recite poems. However, due to its religious particularity, it is difficult to become an open space for public meetings. This determines the closeness and privacy of the classical gardens in China. Modern gardens serve ordinary people, which requires modern gardens to be open and popular. There is a contradiction between classical gardens and public demand, which can be met by the open geometric division of western gardens, thus causing the construction frenzy of modern western gardens. The large-scale opening concept of western gardens is really worth learning. But not using it, moving around, losing creativity, leaving only a bunch of geometric forms, which is really terrible. In the process of modernization, gardens are moving from closed to open and popular, and from serving a few people to serving the people. Rough designers can't move classical gardens, so they move to spacious and formal western gardens. The author also affirmed that many excellent designers can't do without learning from western gardens, absorbing open ideas, inheriting the advantages of classical gardens, and designing many excellent public gardens serving the public. Speaking of open public gardens, most people turn their attention to western gardens with geometric rules. In fact, in the Jin Dynasty, new pavilions and Lanting with the nature of public gardens appeared in China. Later public gardens included Qujiang and Xingyuan, Ten Scenes of West Lake and Cangpo Village preserved to this day in Song Dynasty, Shichahai, Yantou Village and Taoranting in Ming and Qing Dynasties, and the famous Daming Lake in Jinan, Xuanwu Lake in Nanjing, Cuihu Lake in Kunming and Slender West Lake in Yangzhou. The development of open urban public gardens in China has a long history, and many excellent works are worth learning from. Inherit the superior essence of these gardens, abandon the limitations of classical gardens, learn from the design techniques of domestic and foreign gardens, and carry forward the style of China classical gardens. Besides public gardens, there are more forms of classical gardens in China. Therefore, as a garden system, compared with other countries' garden systems, it has a distinct personality, which is the superior essence of classical gardens. 1 The gardens in China are based on nature, which is higher than nature. This feature is particularly prominent in artificial landscape gardens in terms of mountain building, water management and plant configuration. Only by "building mountains to control water" can we achieve the so-called "one punch will attract thousands of chases" and "one spoon will attract rivers and lakes to Wan Li". Garden plants are mainly trees, which are endowed with different personalities and virtues, showing their symbolic significance in garden landscaping. The landscape architecture in China is different from that in Britain. The former pays attention to subjective freehand brushwork, is simple and typical of nature, and can be higher than nature. The latter is only a realistic view of landscape architecture. In the author's opinion, the technique of transforming the terrain in China classical gardens is a typical advantage worth inheriting. The most ideal landscape construction is to make use of the original terrain of nature, which is gradually formed after hundreds of millions of years. It has the inherent coordination of nature itself, which is labor-saving and full of natural interest. In fact, due to people's unlimited reclamation, mining and construction projects, the original natural terrain of cities and suburbs has rarely been preserved. Therefore, we should also learn from the natural scenery, use natural creative techniques to deal with the terrain, and adjust measures to local conditions in the site reconstruction. In the design of eighteen bends around Taihu Lake, the designer analyzed the soil and topography of each hillside and put forward the corresponding design scheme, which was very successful. 2 the integration of artificial beauty and natural beauty. Classical gardens organically combine artificial beauty with natural beauty to achieve a highly coordinated state, which embodies China's traditional philosophy of "harmony between man and nature". However, the two mainstream western classical gardens, the Palace of Versailles in France and the British landscape gardens, oppose artificial beauty and natural beauty respectively, which are either regular and plastic, or realistic and natural. However, the creative techniques in China's classical gardens can combine man-made and nature, like a bond, without any rigidity. China classical gardens are full of dense buildings, but they show the vitality of nature everywhere, that is, they use a variety of creative techniques, such as embedding stones in a corner of a house, using small patios, flowers and trees, leaking windows and so on to express nature. These artistic ideas must be passed down from generation to generation and constantly improved, so as to achieve a unique road of "although some people make it, it is natural to open it". China classical gardens are full of artistic conception. The pale connotation of western gardens is vividly displayed in China classical gardens, which is worth inheriting and developing. The biggest feature of China Garden, which is different from other garden systems in the world, is that its ultimate goal is not to create a specific garden image for people. What it pursues is the meaning beyond the form of expression and the image beyond the image, which is the so-called artistic conception. Artistic conception, in essence, is an ideal aesthetic realm that gardeners or gardeners yearn for, on which emotions, concepts and philosophies are pinned. Through the typical generalization and refinement of natural scenery by the garden owner, it gives the scenery some spiritual feelings, and then guides and deepens them, so that when tourists visit and watch these specific scenery, they will feel touched by the scenery, produce * * * sounds, constantly associate with the scenery in front of them, experience the emotions, concepts and even intuitively experience a certain philosophy of life, thus gaining spiritual detachment and freedom and enjoying aesthetic pleasure. Modern people have a fast pace of life and the economy is paramount. What they lack most is this kind of association and sentiment. Although we can't enjoy flowers and drink all day, write poems and compose music and enjoy leisure and elegance like the ancients, we also have rich emotions and dreams. Therefore, creating rural landscape in reinforced concrete buildings contains profound connotation, which can not only relax the body and mind, improve self-cultivation and aesthetics, but also enjoy the pleasure of emotional sustenance. This is definitely what we want to see and enjoy. China can be called "the mother of gardens". Besides what I said, gardening has many advantages. The style of traditional gardens in China cannot disappear. We should keep our own cultural imprint and pass on the superiority of classical gardens from generation to generation. Therefore, we must carefully study the history of classical gardens in China, understand the classical gardens in China, and distinguish the limitations of classical gardens from the traditional advantages, so as to abandon the limitations of classical gardens and inherit the advantages of classical gardens. The modern garden works with the classical advantages of China, once again presented on the land of China, improved and developed the traditional creative techniques and formed an excellent garden system.
