What material are nylon particles used in molds made of? What is a good type?
Polyamide, commonly known as nylon, is called polyamide (PA) in English, which means that the main chain of the molecule contains repeated amides.

[nhco] family thermoplastic resin. Include aliphatic PA, aliphatic-aromatic PA and aromatic PA. Among them, aliphatic PA has many varieties, large output and wide application, and its name depends on the specific number of carbon atoms in the synthetic monomer. The main varieties of nylon are nylon 6 and nylon 66, which are absolutely dominant, followed by nylon 1 1, nylon 12, nylon 6 10, nylon 6 12, and nylon10/kloc-. There are many kinds of modified nylon, such as reinforced nylon, monomer casting nylon (MC nylon), reactive injection molding (RIM) nylon, aromatic nylon, transparent nylon, high impact (super toughness) nylon, electroplated nylon, conductive nylon, flame retardant nylon, nylon and other polymer blends and alloys. To meet different needs.

Nylon is the most important engineering plastic, and its output ranks first among the five general engineering plastics.

Characteristics: Nylon is a tough angular translucent or ivory crystalline resin. As an engineering plastic, nylon has a molecular weight of 1.5-30000. Nylon has the characteristics of high mechanical strength, high softening point, heat resistance, low friction coefficient, wear resistance, self-lubrication, shock absorption and silencing, oil resistance, weak acid resistance, alkali resistance and general solvents resistance, good electrical insulation, self-extinguishing, non-toxic and tasteless. The disadvantage is high water absorption, which affects dimensional stability and electrical properties. Fiber reinforcement can reduce the water absorption of resin and make it work at high temperature and high humidity. The affinity between nylon and glass fiber is very good.

Among nylon, nylon 66 has the highest hardness and stiffness, but the worst toughness. The toughness order of various nylons is: PA66 < PA66/6 < PA6 < PA610 < PA112.

The flammability of nylon is UL94v-2, the oxygen index is 24-28, the decomposition temperature of nylon is above 299℃, and it will spontaneously ignite at 449~499℃.

The melt fluidity of nylon is good, so the wall thickness of the product can be as small as1mm.
