Historical evolution of Kunming First People's Hospital

Kunming First People's Hospital was founded in 1914. Its predecessor was the police hospital opened in 1914 when Zhu De was the director of the Yunnan Police Department. Later, because it was open to the public, the hospital was renamed "Hongji Hospital". In 1922, it was renamed "Municipal Hospital", and in 1955, it was renamed "Kunming People's Hospital". In 1958, it moved from Jingguo New Village to Xunjin Street and merged with the "Ganmei Hospital" founded by the French. In 1963, it was officially renamed "Kunming First People's Hospital".
