What does Shanghai Beach stand for?
Shanghai beach refers to Shanghai.

Because the Bund in Shanghai is located in the east of Huangpu District, east of Huangpu River. It used to refer to the narrow strip on the west bank of Huangpu River between Shiliupu, Zhongshan Donger Road, Waima Road and Suzhou River, but now it starts from Xinkai River at the southern end.

This used to be the beach by the Huangpu River. After the opening of Shanghai, the colonists built roads here. Westerners call it the Bund, and the Bund or Huangpu Beach is written in Chinese. The southern section is called the Bund in France. After the road was completed, banks and foreign companies concentrated. Famous buildings include HSBC Building, Customs Building and Bank of China Building. These buildings have different architectural styles.

Now the Bund is one of the financial centers in Shanghai, with customs, Chinese and foreign banks and so on. Also, because there used to be many banks and foreign firms on the Bund, which is the economically developed center of Shanghai and is very famous, people often call Shanghai the Shanghai Beach.
