I have a steel plate on my leg because of a fracture. It's almost two years now, and I feel sore in my legs recently. What happened?
Hello, according to your account, we don't know where your fracture is yet. Medically, there are thighs and calves in the leg, so I don't know whether it is a fracture on the thigh (femoral fracture) or a fracture on the tibia and fibula on the calf. I guess you don't mind that your leg has broken tibia and fibula. Fracture for two years, fixed on a steel plate. Also, according to your age, the fracture should have healed. After two years, the callus may be wound around the steel plate. If leg fracture, local surgical scar, internal callus formation and foreign body (steel plate) remain, it will cause adhesion or irritation to surrounding tissues and induce soreness. We often meet patients like you in the orthopedic clinic, so I suggest you take out the steel plate when you are free. Generally speaking, in this case, it will be fine after half a year of internal fixation. I wish you a speedy recovery!
