What about nipple cracking?
I'm still breastfeeding. Recently, I found that the nipple began to crack, and I didn't feel anything at first. It hurts more and more now, especially when the child drinks milk. It really hurts like hell. So, what if the nipple is chapped?

1. First: chapped nipple or areola. Commonly known as tinea lactis. Most of them are caused by liver fire and damp-heat stagnation in the liver and stomach. Symptoms are nipple, nipple neck and areola rupture, pain, bleeding or water adhesion, or yellow scab. It is easy to have secondary mastitis. The disease is more common in lactating women, with a long course of disease and can be cured after prolonged weaning. It is advisable to clear liver and purge fire, take Longdan Xiegan Decoction orally, and apply Shengjiyuhong ointment or Baizhi powder emulsion externally.

2. Second: let the baby suck the healthy nipple first, and then suck the affected nipple, so that the baby can suck less and reduce the stimulation to the affected nipple; After feeding, drop a drop of milk on the nipple, expose it to air and sunlight, and keep the nipple dry, which can promote the healing of chapped; Applying egg butter can promote wound healing.

3. Third: when the nipple is chapped, do wet and hot compress before feeding, massage the breast to stimulate the milk discharge reflex, and then squeeze out a little milk to soften the areola, which is convenient for the nipple to connect with the baby's mouth. Don't let the baby suck when the pain in the crack is severe. Suck out the milk with a breast pump in time, or squeeze out the milk by hand to feed the baby, so as to reduce the inflammatory reaction and promote the fracture healing. But don't give up breastfeeding easily, otherwise it will easily reduce milk or cause furuncle and mastitis.
