"20 17 ASABE university student robot design competition" was held in Spokane, Washington, USA on July 20th. * * * There are 17 teams from China, the United States, the Philippines, South Korea and other countries or regions. After several rounds of fierce competition with 17 teams from Purdue University, Clemson University, University of California, Davis, University of Florida, Zhejiang University and other 15 universities, the team composed of teachers and students from China Agricultural University finally won the title of champion.

Dean of School of Information and Telecommunications, China Agricultural University introduced that participating in international competitions is a part of the college's international top-notch innovative talents program, and efforts will be intensified in the future, so that students participating in the program will have one year's practical experience in studying abroad during their undergraduate years.

The leaders of China Agricultural University attached great importance to the activities, and the Academic Affairs Office and the International Cooperation Office gave a lot of support. Professor Zhang Naiqian, an adjunct professor at the school and a professor at Kansas State University in the United States, was specially invited as a special tutor to guide the whole competition.

ASABE University Student Robot Design Competition is the top competition in the field of international agricultural engineering. It was held once a year in 2006 to improve the skills of college students in robotics, electronics and sensor technology. This year's competition was held in Washington State, USA. The theme of the contest is to design and manufacture a fully automatic raspberry pruning robot according to the growth and distribution of raspberries in Washington State, USA. Kansas State University has been the champion for nine years in a row. Last year, undergraduates majoring in agricultural engineering from College of Health Industry and Food of Zhejiang University won the first place. China Agricultural University is the second university to win the championship after Zhejiang University.
