What is an ear?
Wind blowing ear, also known as fan blowing ear, is a common congenital malformation of external ear, which is caused by excessive development of external ear cartilage. The auricle of the ear is large and protrudes 90 degrees from the side wall of the skull. The left and right ears can be asymmetrical, often accompanied by auricle curl. The hearing of the ears is normal, but the shape is ugly. It is generally believed that auricle is formed due to incomplete formation of helix or hypoplasia of concha cartilage in embryonic period. These two malformations may exist separately or simultaneously. Ears are bilateral and common, but the deformities on both sides are different. The same deformity can usually be found in parents' brothers and sisters. Ear flap plastic surgery can effectively improve this situation. The plastic surgery of fan-shaped ear has been very mature after numerous innovations and transformations by doctors, and there are many surgical methods, but the general principles of surgery are nothing more than: ① removing excess skin behind the ear; (2) Reconstruct the normal auricle shape by bending the abnormal lateral auricle cartilage; ③ Suture the skin behind the ear and apply pressure for dressing. Dressing was changed three days after operation, and stitches were removed on the seventh day. As long as the method is correct, ear correction surgery is generally effective.
