1. How does chrysanthemum propagate?
Often in early spring or rainy season, but also in late autumn and early winter, easy to take root and survive.
In early spring, healthy plants with a diameter of 1-2 years old and larger than 1 cm are selected from the middle and upper branches of the mother plant as propagation materials (the selection of propagation materials can also be combined with early spring pruning), and the branches are cut into branches with a length of 15-20 cm, and soaked in clear water for 4-6 hours for cutting.
Cutting requires a trench depth of15cm, a trench spacing of 20-30cm and a plant spacing of 8 8- 10/0cm. The upper end of the cuttings is 3-5cm above the soil surface or 2/3 of the cutting depth. After the cuttings are inserted, compact the soil and water it in time. Cutting seedlings take root and germinate about 1 month.
Cutting seedlings of deciduous leaves in autumn: soak cuttings in NAA solution of 100-200mg/L 18-24h, insert them into sand bed, water them in time, cover them with plastic film, keep the temperature at 18℃-25℃ and the relative humidity above 85%, and move them to nursery for cultivation after rooting.
2. What are the characteristics of chrysanthemum?
In Shan Ye, Tanzania, there is a kind of chrysanthemum whose petals taste so sweet that people or animals will feel groggy. Pick a petal and taste it, and you will soon faint on the ground and fall asleep for several days. Therefore, it is also called "drunken flower".
There are chrysanthemums in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China. Elephants will fall asleep when they smell them. Chrysanthemum has a strong hypnotic effect. According to the data, people and animals will feel groggy as long as they smell the petals, but if they eat them, they have a strong hypnotic effect, but I have never experienced it myself. People can wake up naturally after hypnosis, but I wonder if there are other long-term effects.
If you really want to plant chrysanthemums indoors, to be on the safe side, you can consider doing experiments with animals first to see how they are different from chrysanthemums that live in a room for a week.
