Taihe has a long history. It belongs to the territory of ancient Yu. It is a deer in the Spring and Autumn Period and a new one in the Warring States Period. Since the Qin Dynasty, it has been a county. Since then, the county government has been moved several times, and the county names have been changed several times, including Xinyang, Xiyang, Angelababy, Wanshou and Taihe. In the eighth year of Dade in Yuan Dynasty (A.D. 1304), the county government moved here, changed "Tai" to "Tai", and took the meaning of "keeping peace with Tai and benefiting chastity" in Xiangci. Here, there are excellent people and talented people. Fan Pang, the ambassador of the Eastern Han Dynasty, made a sound broadcast in the sea, ranking among the top eight. Xu, the leader of the school during the reign of Qianlong in Qing Dynasty and the governor of Guangdong and Guangxi during the reign of Daoguang, was one of the stars and was famous in history. Scenic spots and historical sites, mud mounds all over the country, ruins of seven ancient cities, and Confucian temple buildings built in the Yuan Dynasty all record the ancient civilization of Taihe.
Taihe has fertile land and rich products. Agricultural planting is a ternary structure of grain, economy and feed. Grain crops are mainly wheat, soybean, corn, sorghum and taro, and cash crops are mainly sesame, rape, cotton, tobacco leaves, mint and Chinese herbal medicines, especially mint. The annual planting area is stable at about 250,000 mu, and the annual output of peppermint oil accounts for more than one third of the national total output, with excellent oil quality, and it is known as "China's Asian peppermint and China's China peppermint". The main varieties of Chinese herbal medicines are Platycodon grandiflorum, Radix Isatidis, Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Radix Paeoniae Alba, Radix Codonopsis, Paeonia lactiflora and medicinal chrysanthemum, all of which are well-known at home and abroad for their high yield and good quality. Among them, Platycodon grandiflorum is exported to South Korea, Japan and Southeast Asian countries, becoming one of the three major distribution centers for Platycodon grandiflorum production and processing in China. Taihe is also the hometown of cherries in Cheng Chun. Taihe Spring Bud and Cherry are tributes of Qing Dynasty, which have long enjoyed a good reputation abroad. Underground mineral resources such as oil, coal and high iodine mineral water are very rich, which have been identified by the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources and the Ministry of Health and have high mining value.
Taihe industry is developed in both urban and rural areas with complete categories. Medicine, chemicals, textiles, food, plastics, building materials, machinery, paper making, spices and wood processing are the pillar industries of the county. A number of township enterprises that process and export peppermint oil, wood thread, tear rope, Chinese herbal medicines, screens, human and animal hair and other products have flourished.

Nylon rope, wooden decorative strips, peppermint oil, Chinese herbal medicines, taro powder, hair, screens and many other professional markets are growing day by day, radiating the whole country. Taihe has convenient transportation and perfect infrastructure. Beijing-Kowloon Railway and Luofu Railway pass through the territory, and there are 7 stations in the territory. National Highway 105, Provincial Highway 308 and Jiebang expressway are intertwined in the county. Heying Golden Avenue runs through Taihe for more than 40 kilometers, and the county seat is only 37 kilometers away from Fuyang 4C Airport and Fuyang Marshalling Station of Beijing-Kowloon Railway, forming a three-dimensional traffic network. Urban construction is changing with each passing day, and urban functions are constantly improving.
