The ranking of universities of traditional Chinese medicine is as follows:
1. Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Referred to as "Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine", it is a university directly under the Ministry of Education with the discipline of traditional Chinese medicine. It is a unique national key university and is listed in the National 211 Project and one of the first batch of "double first-class" world-class discipline construction universities. The school was founded in 1956 and was formerly known as Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is the earliest higher education institution of traditional Chinese medicine approved by the State Council.
2. Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, referred to as "Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine", was founded in 1956. The president was personally appointed by Premier Zhou Enlai. It is one of the first traditional Chinese medicine universities established by the country after the birth of New China. One of the higher education institutions, it is the first traditional Chinese medicine school jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the local government.
3. Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a university jointly established by the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Founded in 1954, it is a nationally recognized university. It is one of the earliest colleges of traditional Chinese medicine in the university and enjoys the reputation of “the cradle of higher traditional Chinese medicine education”. The school currently has 1 national first-level key discipline, 2 national second-level key disciplines, 2 national key (cultivation) disciplines, and 2 disciplines of clinical medicine, pharmacology and toxicology have entered the top 1% of ESI global rankings.
4. Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is one of the first four universities of traditional Chinese medicine established in New China. It is directly under the Ministry of Health and the National University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Led by the Administration Bureau, it was transferred to the management of the Guangdong Provincial People's Government in 2000. It is now a key construction university and a key discipline construction unit of high-level universities in Guangdong Province's "211 Project". In 2017, it was selected into the first batch of national first-class discipline construction universities.
5. Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was jointly established by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and has been selected as a national "Double First-Class". The school was founded in 1956, formerly known as Chengdu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is one of the four earliest colleges and universities of traditional Chinese medicine in my country. In 1995, it was renamed Chengdu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
6. Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine rank fifth. The school was founded in 1958 and is one of the earliest universities of traditional Chinese medicine in China. , changed its name to Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2006. The school currently has 16 colleges, 1 academic department, 1 research institute, 3 directly affiliated hospitals, and 4 non-directly affiliated hospitals.
