What little-known scenic spots are there in Hangzhou?
Sichengtang, the oldest church in Hangzhou, is the only existing ancient Christian church in Hangzhou. Its appearance is not as "full of foreign flavor" as traditional western churches. It has fair-faced brick walls, overhanging roofs and exquisite wooden decorations, which are very beautiful in China and the West. I especially like its carved fence. The plants cling to it and have a unique aesthetic feeling. Because it was afternoon when I went there, there was no light in the church, so the light of the photo was not good, but you can still see that the fan-shaped chandelier with interior retained its former charm and beautiful shape; There are many precious old black and white photos hanging on the stairs leading to the second and third floors, including Shu Hong, the first Olympic referee in China, 1956, the first three-self patriotic movement conference held in Sishengtang. My aunt in the church told us that besides Sunday worship, there are also youth gatherings, sermons and prayers, Taoist classes and hymns every week. In order to facilitate overseas Christians to live a religious life, there is an "English service" after Sunday morning meeting, which is attended by foreign experts and students in Hangzhou. Sichengtang also often holds wedding sacrifices and memorial services for believers, and holds baptism (baptism) every July. In the southeast corner of Sichengtang, there is a marble pedestal stone tablet embedded in the blue brick wall, which silently witnesses the history of Sichengtang. In the small side room, members of the choir are practicing, and beautiful music echoes in this world, making people feel holy and incomparable.
