Treatment of vulvar dystrophy

1. Vulvar atrophic dystrophy

(1) Drug treatment ① Topical use of hydrocortisone ointment can relieve symptoms; ② Oral chloroquine can relieve itching symptoms; ③ Use testosterone Treatment; ④ Topical application of trans-retinoic acid once a day, 5 times a week, treatment for 1 year;

2. Vulvar leukoplakia

(1) Conservative treatment: clean the vulva frequently, keep it dry and clean, and treat associated diseases. For local treatment, hydrocortisone ointment can be applied topically when itching is obvious. Keratotic hyperplasia can be treated topically with 0.025% retinoic acid or 5-fluorouracil ointment. Immune-modulating drugs such as 5% imiquinomod cream can be used.

(2) Vulvar leukoplakia can become cancerous after surgical treatment. Therefore, the diagnosis of vulvar leukoplakia must be made first, the degree of atypical lesions should be clarified, and regular follow-up observations should be made. Only when there is obvious abnormality and a tendency to develop into carcinoma in situ is the precise indication for surgery for vulvar leukoplakia.
