How is facial paralysis caused by cosmetic surgery?

Facial paralysis after plastic surgery may be caused by facial nerve injury during surgery.

Facial paralysis is characterized by total or partial paralysis of the muscles on the same side of the lesion, shallow forehead lines, drooping eyebrows, large eye fissure, incomplete closure, shallow nasolabial groove, weak cheeks, drooping corners of the mouth, salivation and so on. Different facial nerve injuries in different parts can cause different manifestations. For example, the frontal muscle can't contract, which leads to the shallowing or disappearance of the frontal line and the lowering of the eyebrows. And the damage of some branches of the eye will cause eyelid closure disorder. When facial nerve is injured in mandibular surgery, asymmetry may appear on both sides of the mouth. Temporary facial paralysis is mainly caused by pulling tissue during operation, or swelling of the wound and pressing the nerve. Permanent facial paralysis is mainly caused by cutting off nerves during surgery. Therefore, you should go to a regular hospital in time after symptoms appear, so as not to delay the treatment opportunity.
