② Grafting method. There are also two methods of plum blossom bud grafting: T-shaped bud grafting and bud grafting with xylem. Please refer to Apricot for specific operation. Bud grafting with xylem of plum trees can also be carried out without peeling rootstocks and scions, and the survival rate is also high. However, if the grafting time is too late and the buds can't fully mature before winter, it is not conducive to safe wintering. (2) Grafting time. Branching is carried out before and after spring germination to the leaf development stage, as long as the scion does not germinate; The grafting period can be slightly extended.
② Grafting method. There are many grafting methods, such as splitting grafting, cutting grafting, abdominal grafting and skin grafting. Splitting and cutting have been introduced in detail in the section of apricot grafting, and they are not repeated here. Abdominal transplantation and skin transplantation are briefly introduced as follows:
Abdominal grafting: cutting scions into oblique wedges; The long side is thick and the short side is thin. It is best to cut the surface across the board to ensure its smoothness and facilitate interface healing. Rootstock need not be cut. Choose a smooth place to cut diagonally. The depth should not exceed the pith of the rootstock, and the size and angle should be consistent with that of the scion. Insert the scion, wrap it and tie it tightly.
Grafting grafting: also known as subcutaneous grafting, it is suitable for thick rootstocks and is carried out when the rootstocks are peeled. The long section of the scion depends on its thickness, generally 3 ~ 6 cm. The long section is extremely thin, so it is generally necessary to cut off more than 1/2 of the thickness of the scion and make it smooth; Cut a knife on both sides of the back of the long section 1/3, so that the lower end of the scion is arrow-shaped. Cut or saw off the roots and make them smooth. Choose the smooth side to cut vertically, reaching the xylem, and the length is about 2/3 of the long section of the scion; Cut the bark with the tip of a knife, put the long section of the scion inward and the short section outward, gently insert into the incision of the rootstock, and then tie it tightly with plastic strips.
