Late Stage of Portrait Photography and Shooting Skills

1, learn to use shortcut keys and shortcut keys.

All post-retouching software has shortcuts and shortcuts to make work easier and faster. Even though I know Adobe very well, I probably know little about the functions of Photoshop, Lightroom and other software.

Fortunately, I don't have to keep these functions in mind, because I remember the shortcut keys of the most commonly used functions and set all the personalized function keys. This not only greatly improves the editing speed, but also allows me to devote myself 100% to photography. When I need retouching, I can hum out-of-tune tunes and deal with them quickly.

2. Determine the processing flow of black-and-white photos and color photos.

It sounds interesting and attractive to process photos in a retro style, or to cross-process photos of different styles with your technology. However, in order to reduce the time you spend staring at the interface of retouching software, the simplest way is to simplify the editing process, that is, to treat all photos in the same style.

I simplified the processing of black and white photos into a set of fixed processes, and so did color photos. I do basic retouching first, and then process color or black-and-white photos according to different processes.

Because I often take portraits, this treatment is suitable for all photos that need editing. And it can make my photos uniform in style and have unique functions.

My color photo looks different from yours? And it should be different. You should have your own color processing method to make people see that this is your work.

The same is true for black and white photos; I hope people will see my black and white photos and think: This is Linxi's work. ? This will not only save editing time, but also help you build your own style.

3. Try the automatic adjustment function.

When I spend hours editing pictures and feel tired, I will spend a long time staring at a photo, knowing that it needs to be revised, but I can't figure out how to do it. At this time, you need to do two things: one is to change the music you listen to, and the other is to try automatic adjustment functions, such as automatic color, automatic tone, automatic negative processing and so on.

You don't really use these functions, but look at what advice the software can give you within its intelligent scope. Sometimes it can make good suggestions, sometimes it can't, but it can always make you look at your photos from another angle, which is very helpful for your work.

4. Show people's true colors and draw a clear line.

You are not a plastic surgeon. We all hope that our customers like their photos, but the price should not be to spend a lot of time processing them. My principle is simple? I don't deal with fixed physical characteristics, and I don't obviously change my appearance and shape.

If you have a mole, I won't erase it. But if you happen to have a pimple on the day of the photo shoot, I can at least help you get rid of it. I sometimes brighten my eyes, but I never make them too obvious.

I will also add a whitening effect to my teeth (magnetic lasso tool and hue/saturation command), soften the lines of my chin (stamp tool and restoration brush tool), or smooth out a little fat protruding from my waist (liquefaction and stamp tool).

Best portrait photography skills

1. Try to shoot from above.

Make your subject lower than you, so you can shoot down. This can avoid double chin and be slim. Bad-looking portraits are often caused by bad lens angles, which can't be corrected by any later retouching tools.

2. avoid? Death ray?

Shadows are very important for natural light photography, but large shadows will make the color temperature of photos cool, especially when shooting in the morning. People will look better in warm light, so try to shoot in warm shadow areas (such as orange, yellow and red) to avoid cold shadow (such as blue).

3. It is suggested that characters wear clothes with solid colors or large patterns.

Wearing a shirt with fine patterns will make people look fat.

4. Get your theme moving.

Capturing or filming a character can avoid filming? Poker face? A boring portrait. It can be a small action, such as raising your hand to hold your chin, or a big action, such as leaning against the wall or spinning in place as I like.

5. Have an open talk with the subject in advance.

Find out what your character likes best and what they want you to avoid. I've heard all kinds of demands. Some people think the head is too small, others think the feet are too big.

The best way to ensure that they like their own photos is to listen to their requirements before shooting. Your job is not to point out that they are wrong, but to try to let them know that they may be too picky.

Listen to their demands, understand their concerns, and take pictures of their beautiful or handsome appearance? At least avoid their defects.
