China Sophora japonica
Spring erasure is the bud of improper erasure in spring. Sophora japonica sprouts in spring, and when it grows to 5-6 cm, carefully observe all the new buds to understand the overall situation of the tree potential, so as to know fairly well when wiping the buds. Firstly, the redundant buds such as endogenous buds, erect buds and weak buds on the branches are removed. The branches of Sophora japonica like to have multiple buds at the heavy cut, and generally only one robust bud is left. If there are two parallel buds at the incision, when they grow to 15 to 20 cm, choose one with good shape to stay and remove the other. This method can control the growth trend and direction of germination in time, and lay a good foundation for summer supplement and winter shearing.
Summer supplement is to supplement the gap in the crown with extra flourishing strips. Choose stout, 40-50 cm long branches or vigorous branches, and reasonably bind them with some bonsai modelling technique to supplement the branches on the weak side or crown side of the crown. Firmly fix the branches in a reasonable position, and unbind them after the branches are fixed in the next spring. This method can effectively achieve the purpose of plugging and filling the gap.
Winter pruning is to prune branches reasonably. Pruning in winter is the key to crown formation of Sophora japonica. After defoliation, prune it reasonably and effectively. First, cut off dead branches, diseased branches, hole branches, horizontal branches, straight branches and other redundant branches on each branch. When cutting branches, the cut should be parallel to the branches, preferably 0.5 cm away from the branches, so that natural scars will be left after the stubble falls off. Cut the branches that are growing well short. Short cutting should be based on the principle of leaving buds (the upper buds are easy to spread and the lower buds are easy to droop), which can effectively expand the crown and strengthen the aesthetic feeling of branches. Finally, the weak branches are pruned again, and 1 ~ 2 buds are left 2 ~ 3 cm away from the branches, which is beneficial to promote the generation of strong buds in the next year. This method can further improve the shortcomings left by the first two steps of plastic surgery and completely beautify the tree posture.
