The hospital was founded in 1908, formerly known as the Daokou Branch of Christian Huimin Hospital run by British Canadians. The medical activities of Daokou Branch of Huimin Hospital were interrupted by Japanese artillery fire on 1939.
People from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical College returned to their hometown and took charge of Huaxian Cancer Hospital in 2007. In 2009, they invested 1 100 million yuan to reorganize the hospital and named it Huaxian Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical College.
