Niu Jun's main achievements
In the early 1990s, laparoscopic surgery was just emerging in the world. Under the guidance of Professor Shou Nanhai, a famous surgeon, Professor Niu Jun led the general surgery department of Qilu Hospital, and personally led the successful completion of the first laparoscopic cholecystectomy in the top three hospitals in China, and was praised as the "first person in minimally invasive laparoscopic cholecystectomy" in Shandong Province. Simple laparoscopic cholecystectomy can't solve the common problem of bile duct stones in China, so Qilu Hospital once again set up a research team headed by Professor Niu Jun to continue to tackle key problems, and successfully established "laparoscopic common bile duct incision, choledochoscope stone removal, T-tube drainage and cholecystectomy". This achievement not only made up for the shortage of laparoscopic technology in the world at that time, but also reached the international advanced level through retrieval and identification by international authoritative organizations. This micro-innovative technology of endoscope has not only won the provincial scientific and technological progress award, but also been officially included in domestic and foreign teaching materials, and has been popularized and applied worldwide.

From 65438 to 0993, Professor Niu Jun went to Australia for further study as the only scholarship winner of the Royal Commonwealth College of Surgeons. Before going abroad, Niu Jun had won more than 20 provincial and ministerial awards, such as the National Invention Gold Award and the First Prize of Shandong Science and Technology Progress Award, and was awarded the honorary title of "Dr. China with Outstanding Contribution" by the State Council. During his stay in Australia, Professor Niu Jun passed the examinations of 1995 to 1996 International College of Surgery (USA) and Australian College of Surgery, respectively, and obtained the qualification of general surgeon; In 2002, he became a member of the New York Academy of Sciences. For more than ten years, he has served as an oncologist at Matt Hospital of Newcastle University, a senior physician in upper gastrointestinal surgery at Prince Alfie Hospital of Sydney University and Union Medical College Hospital, a senior physician, doctor, postdoctoral fellow and senior researcher in general surgery at Australian National Liver Transplantation Center, Royal Newcastle Hospital of Newcastle University and John Hunter Hospital, and the chief scientist at the Surgical Cancer Research Center of Newcastle University. In 2005, in response to the call of my motherland, I returned to China to serve with full enthusiasm.

After returning to China, Professor Niu Jun presided over a series of studies on integrin αvβ6 and digestive tract malignant tumors, published more than 20 SCI papers with the highest impact factor of 7. 135, which was cited for more than 200 times, published more than 40 papers in domestic core journals and applied for international patents 14. From 2007 to 2009, he won the second prize of Shandong Science and Technology Progress for three consecutive years.

With the development of minimally invasive technology and the improvement of patients' requirements, a new generation of minimally invasive surgery-natural small-hole endoscopic surgery (Notes) came into being. This operation is performed by placing a soft endoscope into the abdominal cavity of the human body. Under the guidance of endoscope, all kinds of surgical operations are completed with special instruments, achieving the minimally invasive effect of no scar on abdominal wall, less postoperative pain and more beautiful appearance, and realizing the dream of abdominal surgery without incision for a hundred years. NOTES is a humanized subject that combines the advantages of endoscopy and laparoscopy and pursues the perfect combination of physiological minimally invasive and psychological minimally invasive. The advent of NOTES surgery in 2007 immediately ignited a new revolution in the global medical field. It is recognized that NOTES is another new milestone in the history of medical development and will surely lead the development trend of minimally invasive surgery in the 2 1 century. NOTES has not only been highly concerned and actively participated by clinicians, but also conforms to patients' wishes and pursuits, and has been highly respected and positively responded by patients. In 2008, Time magazine listed notes as one of the scientific and technological breakthroughs of that year 10.

In order to meet the great challenge of this "third generation" new surgical method, Qilu Hospital once again organized a joint scientific research team with hepatobiliary surgery as the core and related departments such as gastroenterology, obstetrics and gynecology and anesthesiology in 2007. Professor Niu Jun was appointed for the third time and led a new generation of young doctors. After repeated argumentation and full preparation, on the basis of successfully completing the NOTES experiment on the animal model of stomach, vagina and colon, on May 24th, 2009, he personally performed the first Notes in Asia-transvaginal endoscopic cholecystectomy. On August 14, 2009, the first transvaginal endoscopic appendectomy in Asia was successfully implemented. At present, the surgical team led by Professor Niu Jun has successfully completed the most natural endoscopic surgery reported in the world. Upon hearing the news, many academicians in China unanimously recognized that Professor Niu Jun was invited by the United States, Europe, Southeast Asian countries, Hong Kong and Taiwan to give academic lectures and surgical demonstrations, and agreed that his research results have been in the international advanced ranks in the field of endoscopic surgery through natural cavities. 20 10 Qilu hospital hosted the project "animal experimental research and clinical application of endoscopic surgery through natural cavity", which won the first prize of scientific and technological progress in Shandong province. The research paper has been accepted and published by Surg Endosc, an authoritative international magazine in the field of minimally invasive surgery.

At present, Professor Niu Jun has undertaken two national natural science funds and a number of provincial and ministerial research funds, and has carried out a number of cooperative studies with the University of California, the University of Hamburg, the University of Newcastle and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. As one of the "Top Ten Scientific Research Models" in Qilu Hospital, he has successively supervised 2 postdoctoral doctors, including more than 20 doctors 1 1 and masters.
