In the struggle to aid Africa in 2003, the medical staff of the First Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, led by Academician Zhong Nanshan, took the initiative to rescue most of the most critical SARS patients in Guangdong Province, creating nine "best", which made great contributions to the fight against Africa and was highly praised by the World Health Organization.
