In the long process of making stump bonsai, there are many plants that are originally inconspicuous. Once processed by experienced craftsmen, it becomes a classic in our eyes. You must know that the trunk of a bonsai plant is the bone of the bonsai, which is based on the natural growth laws. The closer the trunk is to the lower part, the thicker the trunk will be. It will become thinner and thinner as you go up slowly, but you will find that naturally growing plants are too slow. However, stump plants in pots do not have much space to grow, which requires us to shorten the stump branches as much as possible and make them natural. Usually the height of a tree is 6 and its diameter is 1. This is the golden ratio. The more the trunk is maintained at the roots, the more stable it will be for us and not top-heavy.
1. Preparation of bonsai. We should choose the plant stake material to use. First, plant stumps with low lateral shoot sprouting in basins of gravel and soil particles. Then raise the pile, and the most important thing is to keep the roots, so that the roots of the plant can be expanded and thickened as much as possible. This will make the trunk of the plant thicker in the future.
2. Pile cultivation mainly focuses on water and fertilizer control. In order to make the stems of stump bonsai thicker, the bonsai plants need to be provided with sufficient nutrients, and the number of monthly fertilizations can be increased, especially nitrogen fertilizers that cannot be interrupted. After a period of maintenance, remove excess branches and leaves from the stump of the bonsai to inhibit branch and leaf sprouting and promote stem growth.
Third, the supply of water and fertilizer should be sufficient and moderate, and the top branches and leaves should be pruned to keep up, otherwise the effect of thickening the branches will not be very good. What we specifically need to do is bud, pick, and shape the upper branches and leaves. Let the upper branches and leaves grow less new branches and leaves, so that the upper branches and leaves do not consume too much nutrients. By inhibiting the germination and growth of the top branches and leaves, the growth and development of the lower branches and leaves will be promoted. When pruning, do not scratch the branches to avoid affecting the stump bonsai.
The shape of the trunk of a bonsai is very important, as mentioned earlier. The backbone of a bonsai plant is the center and support of a bonsai creation. The mottled bark and twisted shapes will go a long way to adding luster to a bonsai creation.
