What is a diamond face?
As we all know, face shape refers to the shape of the face. The upper part is an arc structure composed of maxilla, cheekbone, temporal bone, frontal bone and parietal bone, and the lower part depends on the shape of mandible. The mandible plays an important role in the whole facial contour and is the basic structure that determines the shape of the face. The so-called diamond face or jujube pit face is not uncommon in the crowd. According to incomplete statistics, it accounts for about one eighth. Diamond face means that the upper third and the lower third of the face are relatively narrow and sharp, while the middle part is relatively wide. That is to say, the parts above the eyebrows, including the forehead and temples, are narrow, while the cheekbones and cheeks are wide, and the mandible and chin are slender, forming a shape with two big ends and a small middle, like a jujube pit, and the whole face looks longer. It doesn't look "full of heaven". People with jujube faces often like to cover up their shortcomings through hairstyles, but they can only cover up the upper part of the face, and the lower part still looks narrow and thin, which makes people look unkind. Is there any way for plastic surgery to correct this defect? A: Plastic surgery can be divided into two parts anatomically, one is the correction of the upper third and the other is the correction of the lower third. Both of these corrections need plastic or reconstruction of soft tissue or bone. The main surgical methods are as follows (1). Temporal fullness surgery is also called temporal augmentation surgery. There are two methods, one is injection filling. No rejection, good histocompatibility, convenient material collection and no sequelae. The disadvantage is that the absorption rate is high and it needs multiple injections to achieve good results. Another method is surgery, in which an incision is made in the hidden part next to the hairline, a cavity is stripped under the temporal bone, and soft tissues such as dermis, fascia or muscle are implanted in the cavity. (2) forehead filling: generally, people with a pit face have a flat forehead, which makes people seem to lack wisdom. So many people ask to raise their foreheads. Because the forehead is relatively flat and the range is relatively large, local filling is difficult to meet the requirements of forehead breast augmentation. A more practical method is to cut off the hairline at the upper end of the forehead and separate a gap between the muscles and periosteum of the forehead. Then put a pre-carved silicone rubber prosthesis. This operation is very difficult. The difficulty lies in the carving of silicone rubber block, because the implanted silicone rubber block should be integrated with the radian of forehead, and its edge part should be naturally transitional, and there should be no grooves and ridges. Because the scope of operation is large, there are more chances of infection and less chances of success. (3) Bilateral mandibular marginal bone grafting: For people with rhombic face, the mandibular angles on both sides are not obvious. So the lower part of the face looks narrower and thinner. In fact, this is because the bone development is small. Bilateral mandibles can be implanted with autogenous bone. Bones can be taken from ribs or ilium. X-ray film or spiral CT should be taken before operation to determine the three-dimensional structure of mandible. The operation belongs to craniomaxillofacial surgery, which requires high equipment and technical level, and the operation cost is relatively expensive. (4) chin augmentation surgery: people with diamond faces are located in the chin. So I have to do chin augmentation surgery. Chin augmentation surgery is to make an incision from the oral cavity, from the oral mucosa of the lower lip to the periosteum, to separate a cavity bag with a suitable size between the muscles of the lower lip and the periosteum of the mandible, to carve a commercially available silicone rubber model blank, and then fix it with steel wires or nails, so as to widen and enlarge the chin, thereby increasing the width of the chin and changing it. Many surgical methods to correct rhombic face involve craniofacial bone movement, and bone surgery needs strict disinfection and cannot be sloppy. Therefore, a comprehensive physical examination should be carried out before operation. If you have diabetes or an infectious disease, you must first control your illness. There should be no acne and boils on the face, no ulcers in the mouth, no hemorrhagic diseases such as hemophilia and leukemia. Avoid surgery during menstruation. In a word, you should tell the doctor the truth about your real physical condition and never hide it from the doctor. Of course, preoperative bathing and local cleaning are necessary. Strictly follow the doctor's advice after the operation. After the facial operation, it is generally necessary to fast or eat liquid or semi-liquid food for a period of time. Never eat hard food. Try not to look in the mirror, especially when looking in the mirror, don't touch it with your hands. This is very easy to cause infection. Don't do strenuous activities and go to crowded places for a long time after operation, so as not to squeeze and impact the implanted prosthesis, leading to its displacement and deformation. A: That's a good question. After decades or even hundreds of years of repeated exploration and research, the above operations have condensed the painstaking efforts of countless medical elites at home and abroad. And it should be the best surgical method under the current scientific and technological conditions. A: The main complications of these operations are as follows: 1). Bleeding: The surgical sites of these operations are all in the parts with rich blood supply on the face, so there will be more bleeding and oozing blood during the operation, and sometimes blood transfusion will be performed on the hands. 2). Infection: As mentioned above, the operation involving bones, because the resistance of bones to infection is weak, antibiotics should be used in time after operation to keep the wound clean. 3) Implant deformation and displacement: some implants or bone blocks are fixed with steel wires, and some are stuck in the maxillofacial region, which may be displaced or deformed by external resistance. A: After these operations, the doctor will contact you and follow up. Once these situations occur, you must contact the attending doctor in time. If possible, you should go to the doctor of the medical institution you are treating yourself. As long as these complications are handled in time, they will generally be properly handled and achieve good final results.
