Li Qin’s education is a technical secondary school and graduated from the Opera School Affiliated to Shanghai Theater Academy, which is an art high school.
Li Qin was born in Bacheng Town, Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province in 1990, which is the birthplace of Kunqu Opera. In 2001, 11-year-old Li Qin entered the opera interest class run by Shipai Central Primary School in Bacheng Town to receive training in basic opera skills. In 2002, when Li Qin was 12 years old, in order to continue to study opera in school, she promised her mother that she would not delay her studies.
In 2004, Li Qin was admitted to the Shanghai Opera School to study professional Kunqu performing arts. Later, she was selected by Cai Zhengren, the then dean of the Shanghai Kunqu Opera Academy, and became the academy’s fifth performer. On behalf of "Du Liniang".
