Operation method of impact palpation
During the examination, put the three fingers of the right hand, the index finger, the middle finger and the ring finger at an angle of 70-90 degrees on the corresponding parts of the abdominal wall to be examined, and make several quick and powerful impact actions. When the finger hits the abdominal wall, the viscera or lump will feel floating and sinking. This method is generally only suitable for patients with liver, spleen and abdominal masses that are difficult to reach when there is a large amount of ascites. When the finger is quickly impacted, the ascites on the surface of the organ or mass is temporarily removed, so the fingertips are easy to touch the swollen liver, spleen or abdominal mass. Impact palpation will make patients feel uncomfortable, and excessive force should be avoided during operation.
