Most facial scars are caused by burns and trauma, and a few people are iatrogenic scars (that is, scars left after some facial operations). From the perspective of cosmetic surgery, facial scars are often divided into the following categories:

1 is a kind of facial scar with dysfunction, such as eyelid ectropion, mouth askew, small mouth deformity and so on.

2. Although there is no dysfunction, it is a large area scar that hinders facial beauty, some of which are proliferative and most of which are flat, such as map scars. This kind of scar mainly affects the face, but it does not hinder the function of the five senses much;

3. It is a small facial scar, that is, a small facial scar caused by traumatic infection, burns or other reasons. This kind of small scar often has no obvious effect on function and face, but some patients have a strong desire for plastic surgery.

Simple excision and suture, facial scar excision and skin grafting, skin flap repair and non-surgical treatment of facial scar can be used.
