How to treat atrophic rhinitis?
At present, there is no specific treatment for atrophic rhinitis, so it is appropriate to treat it locally and systematically. If the lesion is serious, those with poor conservative treatment effect can be treated surgically.

First, medication.

1, systemic therapy:

(1) Vitamin therapy: Vitamins A, B, C, D and E can all be used, among which Vitamins A, B2, C and E have better effects, and their dosage is much better than the conventional dosage.

(2) Trace element therapy: Iron and zinc preparations have certain therapeutic effects on this disease.

(3) Myrtle oil: It can dilute mucus, promote gland secretion, stimulate mucociliary movement, and has certain antibacterial effect.

2, local treatment:

(1) compound mint nasal drops, vegetable oil, cod liver oil, liquid paraffin, etc. It can lubricate mucous membrane, soften dry scab, easily remove scab skin and improve dry nose symptoms.

(2) 1%~3% streptomycin nasal drops can inhibit bacterial growth, reduce mucosal erosion, and contribute to mucosal growth.

(3) Compound estradiol nasal drops and 25% glucose glycerin nasal drops can inhibit the decomposition of nasal secretions.

(4)50% glucose nasal drops can promote mucus gland secretion.

(5) Nasal administration of1%neostigmine can promote mucosal vasodilation.

(6) Chlortetracycline or erythromycin ointment can protect nasal mucosa and inhibit bacterial growth.

Second, surgical treatment.

If conservative treatment fails, surgery can be used. The main purpose of surgical treatment is to narrow the nasal cavity, reduce the ventilation of the nasal cavity, reduce the evaporation of water in the nasal cavity, and reduce mucosal dryness and scab.

1. Submucoperiosteal burial of nasal cavity: Buried objects include artificial bioceramics, autogenous bone or cartilage, plastic products, such as PVC and acrylate, silicone rubber, ivory bone, etc.

2. Anterior nostril closure: it can be divided into partial anterior nostril closure and complete anterior nostril closure, and both sides can be performed simultaneously and in stages.

3. Internal fixation of lateral wall of nasal cavity: The operation is destructive and has been rarely used at present.

Third, other treatments.

Nasal irrigation: nasal irrigation with normal saline every day can remove scab and odor, clean the nasal cavity and stimulate nasal mucosa proliferation.
