Zhoukou Huaihai Hospital, formerly known as Zhoukou Hand Surgery Hospital, was officially renamed on March 28, 20 18. Zhoukou Hand Surgery Hospital is located in the north section of Daqing Road, Zhoukou City. Founded in June+February, 2003, as of May, 2020, the building area is 12000 square meters, with 90 beds (open beds 150). Huaihai Hospital is a specialized hospital specializing in replantation of severed fingers (limbs), microsurgery, hand and foot trauma, trauma orthopedics and burn plastic surgery. It is the designated medical institution for urban and rural residents, urban workers and industrial injury insurance in Zhoukou City, and the seventh first-aid station of "120" of the Municipal Health and Wellness Commission.

In order to meet the needs of hospital development under the new situation, Huaihai Hospital of Zhoukou City began to build a large-scale second-class general hospital in the eastern new district of Zhoukou City on 20 17. The first phase of the new hospital covers an area of about 50 mu, and the second phase covers an area of 120 mu. Located in the east of Wenchang Avenue in Zhoukou City (south of Daguang Expressway1.5km), it is adjacent to Zhoukou high-speed railway station in the west, the newly-built civil aviation airport and 106 National Road in the east, 8,000 mu of green Jianye Ecological Park in the north and 3,000 mu of plain reservoir in the south to Fuxi Lake.

According to the plan, the new hospital has a total construction area of 63,300 square meters. By May 2020, the main project has been completed (including an 800-bed outpatient ward complex, an office building of 3,000 square meters, and two staff residential buildings of 1.65 million square meters), and it is expected to be put into use by the end of 2020.

In addition, the hospital also plans to develop some key disciplines such as orthopedics, cardiology, oncology, critical care medicine, general surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, gynecology, obstetrics and pediatrics on the basis of existing specialties such as trauma orthopedics, microsurgery and burn rehabilitation to serve the health of the people.
