We all know that the chassis consists of four systems: transmission system, driving system, steering system and braking system. It is an important part of the vehicle, with many parts and wide distribution.

So it is more troublesome for us to judge.

Causes of abnormal noise of chassis

Generally, the causes of abnormal chassis noise are as follows:

1, interference between parts

Possible cause: The two components interacted due to the impact or installation of other equipment.

Solution: Only through plastic repair or replacement of related parts can there be no interference between parts.

2. Loose bolts or nuts

Possible reasons:

A, long-term driving on the road with bad road conditions, the bolts naturally loosen;

B, improper disassembly and installation damage bolts;

Insufficient tightening torque or incorrect bolt specifications.

Solution: Tighten or replace bolts and nuts.

3. The universal joint of the transmission shaft is invalid

Possible reasons: the dust cover is damaged or the oil leakage is not repaired in time.

Solution: Replace the new transmission shaft universal joint.

4. Abnormal sound caused by damage of each ball head, suspension and connecting bracket.

Possible causes: failure caused by loose ball head or aging and cracking of rubber gasket after long-term use.

Solution: Replace the ball head or support pad with a new one.

5. Abnormal sound of braking system

Possible reasons:

A, brake pad, brake caliper or bracket is loose;

B, brake pad or brake disc failure;

Solution: Check whether the brake system is loose and whether the brake pads and discs are abnormally worn.

6. Abnormal sound of hub bearing

It occurs at a certain speed, with a "buzzing" sound, which increases with the increase of speed.

Possible reasons: Most of them are caused by ablation of hub bearings.

Solution: Replace the hub bearing with a new bearing. (It is recommended to replace both sides at the same time when replacing)

7. Abnormal tire sound

Possible reasons:

First, the tire itself

B, abnormal tire wear

Solution: Check the tires for abnormal wear. If yes, check whether the chassis is loose and improperly assembled. If not, it's the tire itself.

8. Transmission of abnormal sound

Possible causes: worn internal gear or lack of oil.

Solution: First, check whether the transmission lubricating oil is sufficient. If there is no external fault, you can only open the box for inspection.

9. Abnormal sound of clutch

Generally, there will be abnormal noise after stepping on the clutch pedal.

Possible cause: the separation bearing is caused by less oil wear.

Solution: Replace the new release bearing.

The range of abnormal sound generation

1

Abnormal sound of the chassis when the direction is turned.

Generally check whether the outer cage is damaged or whether the pull rod ball head is too active.

2

Abnormal sound is made when the brake pedal or clutch pedal is depressed.

There is an abnormal noise when you step on the brakes. If it is a harsh sound, first check whether the brake pads are worn to the end, and then check whether the brake discs are smooth and flat.

If it is a bang, check whether the brake mechanism is loose and whether the lower arm ball head is broken.

There is abnormal noise when stepping on the clutch, usually the release bearing is broken and needs to be replaced in time.

three

Chassis abnormal noise when passing through the speed bump.

This is the most commonly encountered, and it involves many fields. Generally, it is the interference between parts, the looseness of bolts and nuts, and the damage of shock absorbers without oil.

four

Abnormal sound when shifting gears.

If there is abnormal noise when shifting gears, first check whether the clutch is stepped to the end, whether the cable is adjusted and whether the clutch is completely separated, otherwise the synchronizer inside the transmission is broken in nine cases out of ten.

five

Abnormal chassis noise occurs during acceleration.

Generally, the screw of a component is loose or the rubber bracket is damaged, and the common ones are engine foot damage and transmission foot damage.

six

Abnormal noise occurs during driving.

More common are wheel hub bearing damage and tire noise.

test method

In view of the abnormal sound of the chassis, I personally summed up a method: listening, shaking, watching and changing.

Listen: Listen to the approximate location of abnormal sound;

Shake: shake the parts to see if they are loose;

Look: Look for signs of friction or collision on the parts;

Change: If there is no direction, we can only use the replacement method to replace the suspected parts and narrow the fault range.
