Haiyan now has a new group of people - new residents. Most people in Haiyan call them "outsiders". In the past, in my eyes, outsiders were dirty, unhygienic and prone to fights. But something happened later that made me change my mind.
It was during the summer vacation when I was in the first grade. I came back from a visit to my aunt’s house, but when I got home, I found that I didn’t bring the key with me. What should I do? At this time, my neighbor (a new resident) happened to pass by and asked me what was going on. I answered truthfully, and he invited me to sit at his house. I thought to myself: No way, go to his house? It must be dirty and smelly, alas, but where else could we go except to his house? I had no choice but to reluctantly go to their home as a "guest". As soon as I walked in, I smelled a spicy smell. It must be their unique Sichuan spicy flavor. I looked around and saw that my family was not very wealthy and the house was covered with spider webs. What interested me most was that their walls were covered with peppers, bacon and other unfamiliar things to me. They entertained me warmly and cooked Kung Pao Chicken and many Sichuan dishes that I had never tasted before. They also prepared drinks for me and made my favorite fish-flavored shredded pork. They received me so warmly that I regretted my thoughts towards them. These new residents are so warm to us Haiyan people, and yet we miss them so much, which is really shameful.
At this point, I really got to know the new residents. In fact, the new residents are easy to get along with and are not as unqualified as we thought. They may not have as good conditions as us, and their appearance may not be glamorous, but they have a kind and sincere heart.
I believe that with the help of new residents, Haiyan will add more foreign culture and become more and more beautiful!
