From October 9 to October 28, 2020, under the arrangement of the Provincial Department of Education, seven principals and teachers from Changting and Wuping and I went to Xiamen Jinshan Middle School to study 20 days. Jinshang Middle School is a high-quality junior high school, a national mental health characteristic school and a provincial curriculum reform base. The three-week study has yielded a lot, both in terms of work and perspective.
1. Feel the exquisiteness of Jinshang
From receiving the task, to communicating with Jinshang Middle School, arranging food and accommodation, to organizing the nucleic acid test, I have not officially started work yet. I have felt the meticulousness and seriousness of the leaders of Jinshang Middle School in their work.
On the morning of the 10th, the school organized a grand meeting. Principal Lin delivered a warm welcome speech and gave a comprehensive introduction to the school. Each school leader introduced each piece of work. The teaching and research office organized everyone to study in the on-the-job program, met with the instructor, and signed a guidance agreement. The follow-up work officially begins.
Subsequently, the tutors contacted us to discuss specific follow-up plans. We would like to thank Vice Principal Zheng Xianjun for his sincere guidance. They had detailed exchanges and talked about everything they knew. It has benefited me a lot.
During the visit to the campus, I found: the direction lines on the ground, the basketball hoop on the basketball court, the duty position at the school gate, the walls of the volleyball training ground, the management of the library and laboratory, and the layout of the bathroom. All reflect the meticulous management of Jinshang Middle School.
I attended the meeting of the subject lesson preparation team in the afternoon, and the teachers who followed the post unanimously reported that the lesson preparation team activities here are the most serious, proactive and meticulous among all the lesson preparation team activities I have participated in. A small lesson preparation group activity can show the school's meticulous management of teaching routines.
2. Feel Jin Shang’s eagerness to learn
During the 20 days of training, I participated in many teaching and research activities and educational reform reports. Every report meeting is overcrowded, and the speakers of each report meeting are carefully prepared, so that the participants gain a lot. Come out, please go in, and you will be truly verified here. In just one week, two famous teachers were invited to give lectures. And many famous teachers have been arranged to give lectures and exchanges in other schools outside the island.
Teacher Guo from Shuangshi Middle School (first prize in the Provincial Skills Competition) gave a lecture on "How to Do Fragment Teaching", which gave me a deeper understanding of the precautions for the operation process of fragment teaching. At the same time, I also reflected on the effectiveness of classroom teaching.
Xiamen No. 1 Middle School teacher Wang Miaosheng’s lecture on how to write a paper not only gave me a clearer understanding of the format, requirements and other specifications of paper writing, but more importantly, I learned about the growth of a famous teacher. The path has given me great inspiration for my future teaching and research, teaching school management and other aspects, especially "plunge with a deep heart and persevere". This is a sincere saying and a wise saying that can truly achieve your career.
3. Feel the characteristics of Jinshang Middle School
The biggest characteristics that I feel about Jinshang Middle School are the mental health education and the parent volunteer organization. Director Li of the Mental Health Education Center is a provincial famous teacher, subject leader, and model worker. The team of mental health teachers at Jinshang Middle School led by her continue to innovate, insist on learning, devote themselves to the mental health education of teachers and students, and have achieved brilliant results. The parent volunteer team was upgraded and transformed from the parent committee. It is on duty, working and guiding at the school in an all-round way. Not only participates in students' moral education, but also participates in safety precautions, environmental sanitation, and teaching supervision for teachers and students.
Twenty days of on-the-job training not only increased my knowledge, experienced innovation and improvement, but also expanded my horizons and gained friendships.
