Capacitor parallel connection
When multiple capacitors are placed side by side, their electrode areas are increased, and the total capacity naturally increases! When they are connected in parallel, the total capacity is the sum of capacitances: c parallel = C 1+C2+C3+ ...
Capacitor series connection
We connect several capacitors in series one after another. In this way, the total capacity will be reduced! Specifically, the total capacity after series connection is 1/C string =1/c1+1/C2+1/C3.
Safe operation of shunt capacitor
In order to ensure the safe operation of each capacitor, we usually connect a resistor in parallel, which is smaller than the insulation resistance of the capacitor. In this way, the voltage on each capacitor can be evenly distributed, and the capacitor can be prevented from being damaged due to excessively high voltage.
Capacitor discharge circuit
In the actual discharge circuit, the load is usually fixed, so with the decrease of capacitor voltage, the current will gradually decrease.
