Data: Also known as paraffin oil, liquid paraffin and white oil. Colorless and transparent oily liquid, which does not fluoresce when observed in the sun. It is odorless and tasteless at room temperature and slightly oily after heating. The density is 0.86-0.9 1g/cm3. Insoluble in water, glycerol and cold ethanol. Soluble in benzene, ether, chloroform, carbon disulfide and hot ethanol. It can be mixed with most fatty oils except castor oil. The main component is C 16-C20 n-alkane.

As a filling material, it is used for saddle nose repair and rhinoplasty. In the 1920s, liquid paraffin was widely used as a filler for decades, and it was not used until it was widely reported that it was easy to cause paraffin tumors.
