After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Luoyang attached great importance to the restoration and development of peony, organized landscape technicians to expand reproduction, established peony gardens and peony flower beds, and brought peony back to life. 1982 was officially named as the city flower, and decided to hold a peony flower party.
