Yang is a well-known family in Beicun, with flourishing branches and numerous talents. There are the chief executive (level 4), the deputy commander (level 2), and the first Marxist in South China. Yang's Grand Ancestral Hall is a symbol of Yang's power and social status. In feudal society, ancestral temples were places for people to worship their ancestors, discuss and study. Yang's Grand Ancestral Hall is a large-scale building with the same height pattern as bucket arch, purlin, nine beams and square interspersed, which is built according to the second-class official rank specifications. In the spring of the Republic of China 16 (1927), Lin Sen, Chairman of the National Government, inscribed a plaque for the 700th anniversary of the founding of the ancestral hall of Yang, adding a touch of bright color to the ancestral hall. In the ancestral hall, there is another "imperial edict" plaque to seal Yang Zhenhai's great-grandfather as Tongzhi.
In the past, because the clansmen were mostly active outside, the clan named Yang built a Yangjia Temple in Yuehua Road, Guangzhou (now the Civil Affairs Department of Guangdong Province) during the Tongzhi period. This ancestral temple once wrote a glorious page in the revolutionary history of China. 19 18, Yang Paoan moved his family to Yangjia Temple, where he wrote a lot of articles and poems promoting Marxism. /kloc-in the summer of 0/920, Chen Duxiu established the first factional group in Shanghai; Then, Li Dazhao also set up a * * * production team in Beijing. At the end of the year, Chen Duxiu went south to Guangzhou and found Yang (his uncle) who lived in Yangjiaci to discuss the party building. 192 1 spring, Guangdong * * * production team was established in Guangzhou, and the party branch was located in Yangjiamiao, which became the activity stronghold and contact center of the party.
More than half a century has passed, and people pay homage to Yangjia Temple to find the roots of history and culture. When you enter the North Village, you walk along an old street, and a uniform house with a blue brick roof appears in front of you. The gabled house with pot ears has the style of Qing dynasty aristocrats and a strong sense of history. The rooms on the street are painted with carved eaves, which are beautiful and dazzling, like galleries, and people feel a strong ancient cultural atmosphere.
Yang's grand ancestral hall is in the east of the village. It is a quadrangle with a blue brick house, facing south, and the ground is wide. The temple is surrounded by fields, gardens and ponds, with an elegant environment. Tourists enter the low-walled courtyard through a path, holding two flagpoles and standing on the stone platform, which is a sign that Yang produced two famous ministers in the Qing Dynasty. In front of the door stands a pair of opposite stone lions, which pass through and are the main building of the ancestral hall. The first is the temple gate, which has a two-foot platform foundation threshold. There is a plaque above the door, engraved with the five characters of "Yang's Grand Ancestral Hall", and on both sides are couplets of "Originating from the Eastern Han Dynasty and Xiuyu Beishan". On the two gates, there is a pair of golden painted door gods more than two meters high, resplendent and dazzling. On both sides of the steps are huge drum-hugging stones, and on the left and right stone-pressing surfaces are civil and military music platforms, which are venues for people's ancestors to perform. At this time, there was a faint sound of guqin music in the temple, and the aftertaste still existed, and a feeling of nostalgia arose.
When you step into the temple gate, you will be suddenly enlightened, the glass will shine and the weather will be new. The main building is a well with three entrances and two days. Each entrance is five rooms wide. The three entrances combine Qingyun Lane and hatchback, and the entrance hall is a screen. The nave is the "Beijing Tang Zhi", and there are flower beds and plants in the four corners of the patio. The couplet in the middle temple is "the same strain on the rich and the poor, and the order should be divided into the old and the young." Houdian is Yang's ancestral temple.
Yang's ancestral hall is well-preserved, with magnificent architecture and gorgeous craftsmanship. The whole building has a hard roof, a blue brick wall, a symmetrical layout of the central axis, and a beam bucket passing through a mixed wood frame. The ground level rises gradually from front to back, which is very delicate. It is said that when this house was built, a worker only laid six bricks a day, which was really "slow work and fine work". The interior and exterior of the house are decorated with stone carvings, wood carvings, brick carvings and gray sculptures. Among them, the brick carving is particularly exquisite, with the theme of flowers, flowers, eight treasures and good luck, with a strong idea of the integration of the three religions (Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism). The lines of the pattern are clear and the shape is realistic, giving people a pleasant and comfortable aesthetic feeling. The exquisiteness of Yang's Grand Ancestral Hall is second to none among the residential buildings in Zhuhai in the Qing Dynasty, which embodies the achievements of architectural art in southern China in the Qing Dynasty.
After liberation, Yang's Grand Ancestral Hall was once the campus of Beicun Primary School. After 1988, it was transformed into a place for mass cultural activities. 1997, the Zhuhai Municipal People's Government rebuilt Yang's Grand Ancestral Hall, making this ancient building with a long history shine again.
