Changchun is a famous old industrial base in China, the earliest automobile industrial base and film production base in New China, and is known as "Detroit in the East" and "Hollywood in the East". At the same time, it is also the cradle of the development of railway passenger cars, photoelectric technology, applied chemistry and biological products in New China, and the famous China First Automobile Group Co., Ltd., CRRC Changchun Railway Passenger Cars Co., Ltd., changchun film studio, Changchun Institute of Optics and Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Changchun Applied Chemistry and so on were born.
Changchun World Sculpture Park was founded in 200 1, covering an area of 92 hectares. It was officially opened to the outside world on September 5, 2003. In 2004, it was rated as a national 4A tourist attraction, and in 2007, it was rated as the first batch of national key parks. By holding Changchun International Sculpture Exhibition, 452 sculptures (groups) from 402 sculptors from 2 16 countries and regions gathered in the park. The works show the cultural characteristics of different countries, nationalities, regions and different historical periods, with rich materials and different styles, which can be called the world's hundred gardens of sculpture.
On September 20 1 1, Han Rong African Art Collection in Songshan officially opened to the public. The museum is located at the east gate of Sculpture Park, with a building area of 5,640 square meters. There are three exhibition halls, namely "Art Africa", "Charming Africa" and "Black Africa", which display unique African culture with different themes. The museum has a collection of 12000 sculptures and paintings from Tanzania, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia and other southeast African countries, which completely records the progress of modern art in East Africa in the past 50 years. It is the gathering place of African Marconde woodcarving art in China, and it is also the museum with the largest number, the most complete variety and the highest artistic level in China.
