In the east of my hometown, there is a Xu River. The river is very wide, and fish swim freely in it. There are green vegetable gardens and farmland on both sides, and fishing boats can often be seen crossing the river gently. This used to be a river that hometown people were proud of. But in recent years, in summer, the face of this river has become fierce and abnormal. When it rains heavily in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, the river rises rapidly and rushes ashore like a beast. Green vegetable gardens are flooded, large areas of farmland are flooded, and even more than half of the houses of residents on both sides of the strait will be flooded. People living on both sides of the strait are miserable, and they are afraid in summer, and some residents even plan to move. It's okay now. High and strong dams have been built on both sides of the Xujiang River. Even if there is not much water in the upper reaches of the river, residents on both sides of the river no longer have to worry about being flooded by the river. I also heard that Jiang Yan Road will be built in the near future. If so, we can go there for a walk after dinner and enjoy the beautiful scenery and cool wind by the river.
In the west of my hometown, it used to be a desolate cemetery. At night, it's dark and weird here. No one dares to pass through there. Now, the cemetery has disappeared, replaced by high-rise buildings and rows of green belts. Especially at night, neon lights will light up every second, making the streets colorful. People gather here for a walk and shopping. It's crowded and lively, almost comparable to "Night Shanghai". This is the newly-built Jianchang Avenue. How's it going? Not bad!
In the north of my hometown, there used to be dilapidated adobe houses. When the car passed by, the dust was all over the sky. It's different now, because the county actively promotes preferential policies for attracting investment. Foreign investors built a large Jiuding trade city there. When I arrived in Jiuding, the first thing I saw was a big clock hanging from a tall building. It rings the time for the people of the county on time every day, urging people to work and study hard. The bell rang through the county seat, as if announcing that his hometown Cheng Nan had bid farewell to poverty and embarked on the road of happiness. There are rows of brand-new and neat shops in the trade city. Colorful advertising windows and dazzling goods will surely dazzle you. People come here in droves to hang out and shop, and the haggling in the trade city is endless.
In the past few tens of meters, it is Jinshankou Industrial Park. The factory building here is the narrowest and the machines are rumbling. The workers are constantly busy in the workshop, and there is a busy and prosperous scene everywhere. Seeing everything here, can you not feel that the economy of your hometown is moving towards glory?
The scenery and people in my hometown of Cheng Nan have changed. Walking in the street, fashionable men and women can be seen everywhere. When the festival comes, the streets are very lively, and my hometown Cheng Nan seems to be a shopping paradise. People's clothes have changed, their words have changed, their manners are elegant, and their speech is civilized. All this always makes me feel that Cheng Nan, our hometown, has become a metropolis.
