How to graft chrysanthemum
The best time for grafting chrysanthemums at high temperature is cloudy, followed by windless morning.

Preparation before grafting chrysanthemum

water

Water the chrysanthemums two or three days before grafting. The watering parts are rootstocks and scions to increase the water content of rootstocks and scions.

spray water

One or two hours before chrysanthemum grafting, water should be sprayed on the rootstock and scion mother plant. It is particularly important to wait until all the water on the leaves has evaporated before grafting.

Bag preparation

Prepare enough plastic bags, soak them completely in water, and apply them after grafting.

Grafting method of chrysanthemum

Split method. The scion should be at the top of chrysanthemum seedlings, with a length of 5~7cm, leaving 2 ~ 3 leaves at the top and removing the larger leaves at the lower part. Then cut the scion into a wedge shape of 1.5cm with a double-sided knife, put it in your mouth after cutting, and be careful not to get saliva. Then split the rootstock from the middle with a knife, and cut the rootstock from the grafting site to a depth slightly greater than or equal to the cross section of the scion. Insert the scion into the split opening, align the cambium between them, wrap the joint tightly with plastic strips from top to bottom, and smear mud on the cross section to achieve the effect of moisture retention. Finally, put the prepared plastic bag on it and tie the bag tightly. Especially when putting plastic bags, we should pay attention to putting the scion into the bag together with some mugwort leaves under the interface.

Management of Chrysanthemum after Grafting

Shade chrysanthemum in time after grafting. If it is a chrysanthemum with a small grafting area, all the grafting parts can be covered with soaked newspaper or kraft paper with the help of bamboo poles. If it is a chrysanthemum shading tool with a large grafting area, you can choose a shading net. If the scion does not lose water and wither, it can be shaded after six or seven days. Spray water three or four times a day on sunny days, and at the same time increase the air holes on the plastic bags. When the weather is dry, spray a small amount of water into the plastic bag to make the scion gradually adapt to the external environment. Once the scion in the plastic bag is found to be wilting or dead, it should be repaired in time. The scion began to grow rapidly in about 20 days. At this time, the plastic strips tied to the scion should be removed in time. Grafting chrysanthemums is a complicated job. Flower lovers should finish this work with patience, love and care. I hope people who love flowers can graft unique chrysanthemums!
