1. Identify the source of fear
Deconstruct fear. Fear is often divergent and it is difficult to identify the cause of fear. However, if the source can be identified, coping potential can be assessed , easier to manage emotions.
2. Face fear and treat it rationally
The first step to eliminate fear is to admit the existence of fear. Some of the most powerful fears are ones you don’t want to admit.
3. Positive self-suggestion
Suggest to yourself that necessary medical examinations and treatments are beneficial to your health, and that these pains are not as painful as you think. Even if a patient is given a placebo that has no analgesic effect, as long as the patient believes they are taking analgesics, the pain they experience will be significantly reduced.
