1, planting
Generally, the most suitable soil for epiphyllum growth is the cultivated soil mixed with garden soil and humus soil, and then mixed with a small amount of fine sand. Changing pots every 1 year is better than early spring. When changing pots, remove rotten roots, remove some old soil and add new nutrient soil.
Step 2 apply fertilizer
Fertilization is usually once every ten days to half a month. On the basis of thin fertilizer, a small amount of rice vinegar can be added to the fertilizer, which will have more gratifying growth. However, to fatten at flowering stage, it can be blended with 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution. Fertilize the flowers after they wither to prepare for the meeting next year.
water
Seeing dry and wet is an important principle of epiphyllum cultivation, and there must be no water in the basin. In hot and dry summer, clean water can be sprayed on the leaves, and excessive water accumulation will lead to rotten roots, but this method can ensure no water accumulation, replenish air humidity, and be conducive to growth and flowering in the coming year.
4. Temperature and lighting
Epiphyllum likes semi-cloudy environment, so we should pay attention to sun protection in spring and summer, place it indoors for culture, and pay attention to light intensity to avoid exposure. In addition, epiphyllum should be placed in a ventilated place, such as by the window. The room temperature should be kept at about 10℃, and the soil humidity should be controlled, which should not be too dry or too wet.
5. Reproduction
Epiphyllum is usually planted or pruned during the breeding season. Sowing method grows slowly and the flowering period is delayed, so cutting method is often used for planting. Simple cutting methods can greatly shorten the flowering time, but attention should be paid to the selection of cuttings. Generally, it is better to grow full and strong stems and leaves, not too old or too tender. Cut the cuttings into small pieces, ventilate and air-dry, insert the cuttings into the soil after air-drying, keep the soil loose, control the temperature at 18-25℃, and move them into a pot for culture after rooting.
