Gucci was originally a leather goods company, but now it is most famous for handbags with Gucci logo. Last month, the company opened a 46,000-square-foot store on the first floor of Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan (the largest of its 233 stores in the world), and launched the "Gucci Love new york" handbag series, which was snapped up within two days of the opening of the new store. The proceeds from handbag sales have been donated to the playground partner Central Park Improvement Plan.

Chanel and Calvin Klein tied for second place. Chanel, a private company famous for its little black dress, tweed suit and sewing handbags, was founded by coco chanel on 1909, and karl lagerfeld is currently the head. Chanel has always been ahead by promoting classic but very fashionable products. In 2006, Calvin Klein's global retail sales climbed to $4.5 billion, 50% higher than when Phillips Van Heusen bought the company in 2003. Such remarkable achievements are attributed to the company's three brands: Calvin Klein Collection (top clothing and accessories), ck Calvin Klein (second clothing and accessories) and Calvin Klein (third clothing and accessories).
