Wusa culture is one of the ink marks of Yi people's long civilization. Yi people entered Wusha area, which can be traced back to the Western Han Dynasty at the latest. Wusa tribe appeared in the Northern Song Dynasty, and was promoted to Wusa Wumeng Xuanwei Department in Yuan Dynasty 1955, and renamed Weining Yi, Hui and Miao Autonomous County.
