At the 62nd Venice Film Festival, China writer Zhong Acheng (pen name Acheng) appeared in Venice for the first time as a judge. He and famous filmmakers from Italy, France and the United States served as judges in the competition unit to decide which film won the Venice Golden Lion Award.

Acheng (male) (1949-) was originally named Zhong Acheng. Born in Jiangjin, Chongqing, born in Beijing. During the Cultural Revolution, senior one was interrupted. 1968 was sent to Shanxi and Inner Mongolia to jump the queue, and then went to Yunnan Farm. 1979 returned to Beijing, worked in China Book Import and Export Company, and later served as the editor-in-chief of World Book. His first novel, Chess King (Shanghai Literature, No.7, 1984), attracted wide attention and won the National Excellent Novelette Award of 1983- 1984. His series of short stories with prose tendency are full of romance, which has also attracted wide attention from critics. In his works, the atmosphere of folk culture is simply exaggerated, revealing a profound and meaningful interest in life, reflecting philosophical thinking about the universe, life, nature and people, caring about the way of human existence, and showing the current accumulation of traditional culture. These works and his theoretical article "Culture Restrains Humanity" published in 1985 made him a representative figure of root-seeking literature that revealed the national cultural psychology at that time, and also had certain influence overseas. After living in the United States in the 1990s, he published many essays, which still followed his straightforward and diluted language style.
Acheng started writing on 1984. Acheng showed his philosophy in his first novel "Chess King": "The educated youth life, which is generally considered to be very bitter, may be a material upgrade for the poor class with low living standards! In addition, the' heroic' behavior of ordinary people is often the epitome of history. Those ordinary people will glow with some brilliance when they are forced. After that, when ordinary people return to ordinary people, they are often scared by their own behavior. Therefore, personally, they often start from scratch, return to zero, and history goes further. " As soon as the novel was published, it shocked the literary world, and won the Fujian Novelette Selection Award and the Third National Excellent Novelette Award with 1984.
Since then, works have come out one after another, including the article "Culture restricts human beings".
