Truss structure: a light and strong bending structure.
Triangular lattice set

Truss structure is formed by connecting straight bars at both ends, forming a group of unique triangular elements, that is, plane structural elements. This combination of structural units makes the whole structure strong and light.

Excellent mechanical properties

Under the external load, the moment diagram and shear diagram of truss structure are very similar to those of simply supported beam. But in fact, the mechanical properties of truss structures and simply supported beams are quite different. The upper chord of truss structure bears pressure and the lower chord bears tension, forming a couple to balance the bending moment caused by external load. The shear force is balanced by the vertical component of the axial force of the inclined web bar.

Axial tension or axial compression

Every member of the truss structure, whether it is the upper chord, the lower chord, the diagonal web or the upright, is in the state of axial tension or axial compression. This means that the strength of the material can be maximized!

Multiple application scenarios

Truss structure has many forms, not only limited to roof truss. It can also be seen in some long-span structures, high-rise buildings and bridges.
