Founded in 503 AD, with a history of 1495, it is the first batch of national first-class key cultural relics protection units announced by the State Council, and it is a famous ancient temple in the south of the Yangtze River. Nine clay arhats carved by Yang Huizhi, a famous sculptor in the Tang Dynasty, have been well preserved for thousands of years. Up to now, there are still more than 200 buildings in the temple, which maintains the pattern of first-class temples and is known as one of the four major temples in the south of the Yangtze River. The existing buildings in the temple include Ershanmen, Tianwang Hall and Antiquities Museum. Zhao Mengfu, a calligrapher in the Yuan Dynasty, once wrote a column for the temple: "When the beams are built in the Vatican Palace, the Buddhist forest in the Li Dynasty will be restored first, and the Lohan will trace back to the peerless Buddha statue in the south of the Yangtze River". Mr. Guo Moruo once said in his early years that "the Luohan statue in Baosheng Temple has a pulse in the chest and a pulse in the hand. Although bound by religious themes, the sense of reality is imposed on people with infinite power, which makes people feel a noble beauty. "

The Raven Pond, Xiaohongqiao and Qingfeng Pavilion in Baosheng Temple are the remains left by Mr. Lu Guimeng, a famous poet and writer in the late Tang Dynasty. He used to be the adjutant of Huzhou and Suzhou secretariat, but his family was poor and his life was difficult. He often plowed the fields with farmers, and he first invented the ox plow to let farmers turn the fields. The local farmers especially respect him.

Baosheng Temple flourished and abolished in the past dynasties. At its peak, there were more than 5,000 temples and thousands of monks, covering almost half the town. In Chenghua period of Ming Dynasty, the gate of Baosheng Temple was rebuilt according to the original appearance of Qianlong period. Entering the Ershanmen Gate, I saw that the Heavenly King Hall was magnificent, with a single-eaved roof and vertical eaves, showing the style of a Buddhist temple in the south of the Yangtze River. In the hall, you can see the high arch structure with the architectural characteristics of the Ming Dynasty. According to Chen Congzhou, an expert in ancient architecture, this Tianwang Temple was rebuilt on the basis of the Song Temple during the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty. The beam type is a third-order beam with hump on it. The column base is a basin-covered stone base, engraved with the pattern of "pressing the earth to hide the child prodigy peony flower", which is a relic of the Northern Song Dynasty. The original clay sculptures of the four heavenly kings (namely the four donkey kong) in the temple were destroyed by the Japanese invaders in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. There is an exhibition of local unearthed cultural relics in the temple.

To the north of the palace is the courtyard. There are two cultural relics in the yard, one is a classic bluestone building and the other is an iron clock. The bluestone classic building stands on the west side, and its full name is "The Classic Stone Building of Dalagni". Jingzhuang is a Buddhist stone carving founded in the Tang Dynasty, which consists of three parts: cover, column and seat. The column is engraved with Buddha statues, Buddha names or Buddhist scriptures. Baosheng Temple used to have a classic building in the Tang and Song Dynasties, but now there is only an octagonal stone carving left in this one and that one. The classic building of Baosheng Temple was built in the eighth year of Tang Dynasty (AD 854) and rebuilt in the fifteenth year of Southern Song Dynasty (AD 1 145). It's engraved with the Dalagni Sutra. Due to the long history, many handwriting is illegible. Look carefully, this classic building is composed of many stone pillars, each of which has a tray cover, which is larger than the classic pillar and plays a connecting role, as well as rain protection and decoration. This classic building is divided into seven floors. No matter the age or artistic value, this stone building superior to Dalagni is a rare treasure. The iron bell is not only a treasure of Buddhist temples, but also a historical witness of Buddhist temples. The clock of Baosheng Temple was cast in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, and it has a history of more than 300 years. The inscription on the clock is auspicious words such as "good weather" and "good harvest". There is a saying in the Buddhist scriptures that "when you hear the bell, your troubles will be clear, your wisdom will grow, and Bodhi will be born". Ringing the bell is also a feat of doing good.

To the north of the courtyard is the Antiquities Museum, which was built on the original site of the Ursa Major Hall and contains the world-famous "plastic-walled arhat".

The ancient ginkgo biloba is one of the ancient symbols of Lu Zhi. This is not only an ancient symbol of the historical and cultural town of Luzhi, but also adds luster to the scenery of Luzhi. At present, there are 7 ginkgo trees in the town, including 4 around Baosheng Temple. The oldest is 1300 years old and 50 meters high. Three people can't get around. Despite thousands of years of wind and frost, she is still tall and strong. Ye Shengtao, a famous educator and writer, wrote the article "Tall Ginkgo Tree" during his teaching in Lu Zhi, and commented that the ancient ginkgo tree in Lu Zhi was "tall, strong-willed and magnificent", so Mr. Ye Lao took care of his relatives before his death and placed all his ashes in four ginkgo trees (Lu Zhi Baosheng Temple), so now Mr. Ye Lao's.

When people witnessed the ancient streets, houses and deep alleys of the town, they experienced another flavor of Luzhi ancient town. There are nine main streets in the town, all paved with pebbles and granite. The community is built by the river, and the front street is behind the river. People walk on the bridge and boats walk in the water. There are many shops on both sides of the street, business is booming and tourists are in an endless stream. No matter the house facing the street or the house facing the river, they are all white tiles, wooden doors and windows, and blue bricks with edges. Most of them are houses in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with patterns on the walls. There are 58 alleys in Guzhen District. The deepest alley is150m long. The houses in the alley are No.3, No.5, No.6, and the deepest one is No.7.

Restore old works

In the past two years, the town government has invested a lot of manpower, financial resources and energy in the transformation of the old city, restored a large number of ancient houses and historical landscapes along the street, such as the shed, Shenzhai, Wansheng Mixing and Xiaozhai, renovated ancient streets, ancient bridges and revetments, and decorated Wang Tao Memorial Hall, Xiao Fangfang Film and Television Art Museum and Wudong Water Town with ancient houses.
