Spring Festival; the Spring Festival; Chinese New Year

The first day of the first month, commonly known as "New Year's Day". Everyone wears new clothes, and every family puts up Spring Festival couplets and New Year pictures. Opening the door and setting off firecrackers in the morning is commonly known as "opening the door".

There were many taboos in the past Chinese New Year: no sweeping the floor, no using a knife, no saying unlucky things, no splashing water (pouring it into the designated jar); Chickens and ducks do not leave their nests, and cattle and sheep do not eat grass; Shops are closed and farmers are not allowed to go to the fields. The first meal, some eat longevity noodles, and some eat cakes. These taboos have become less and less recently.

"Lantern dance volume eight pretty.

Only Shitoumen Village in Shiqiaotou Town, Wenling is unique. It is a folk dance to celebrate the peaceful harvest, which is quite famous in Wenling. According to the local elders, it has been circulating for at least two or three hundred years. The so-called "Gunba people" refer to farmers holding paper lanterns of eight kinds of animals, such as lions, unicorns, tigers, white elephants and blue jackals, and dancing in the countryside to exorcise evil spirits and pray for blessings. This kind of dance is generally only held on festive festivals such as the Spring Festival and Lantern Festival. After liberation, it was only held several times to celebrate liberation and establish advanced societies. After more than 20 years' interruption, this folk dance has been rediscovered in the past two years. In 2002, the "Gunba People" performance team composed of farmers in Houtianmen Village represented the town last year in the city's Year of the Horse Lantern Festival and the first community and village cultural performance in Wenling City, and won the first prize and the second prize respectively.

Tung nut leaf bag

This folk custom originated from being a half moon. On the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month, it is the custom of doing half a month in Samoa, commonly known as July and half a month. At this time, it is the time when the leaves of tung trees flourish. So, the clever ancestors collected the leaves like cattail leaves from tung trees, wrapped them in banana-like rice flour and steamed them. This is tung leaf bag. This custom has continued. In the past, Tung Ye steamed buns were only made in the first half of July, and they were only sold by one family. They are rarely seen, but now people with business acumen commercialize them as breakfast food, which is very popular. Because tung tree leaves are seasonal, when tung tree leaves are gone, some people use brown pheasants instead. It is said that the tung leaf steamed stuffed bun is not made, and the original flavor and fragrance are retained.

Ghosts'Festival

On the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month, it used to be Shuiguan's birthday, which was called "Mid-Autumn Festival", but it was commonly called "Ghost Festival". Therefore, every household bought food for ancestor worship and "foreigners" and burned thousands of pieces of paper outside the house at night, commonly known as "Shi Sheng". Some people make wishes when they are sick. Before July 30, they asked their neighbors for "100 meters". They make cakes every day and return the "Hundred Wishes" together with the "soup and rice" outdoors at night, which means that begging is hard and ghosts dare not infringe. Some people "put water lights" on the river to light their mouths. After liberation, the superstitious activities in July and a half have gradually disappeared. Most of them do some catering and have a family dinner at night.

According to the custom of agricultural production, all immortals are in charge of all forces. Once people offend it, they will suffer disaster, or get along badly, or feel sick. So farmers are afraid of all the great gods. In rural areas, there is a certain emphasis on doing farm work, and some farm work is not allowed on certain days, such as picking dung and breaking ground, which is a taboo day for farm work. People not only consciously abide by the taboos in farm work, but also tell everyone not to violate them. Over time, farm work taboo days have been passed down from generation to generation in local rural areas.

Qingming, the solstice of winter

Cutting down trees and repairing graves can only be done during Qingming and winter solstice, and other times are taboo. It is said that trees and graves are under the control of the land god. The land god only allowed the world to cut down and repair tombs in these two days, which later became a folk custom, and no one dared to violate it.

Gengshen Jiazi Day

Gengshen and Jiazi don't do dirty work, and they don't pick human excrement and pigsty. Do dirty work, go against god's will, and run a lot. In order to take a warning, hang a small yellow flag at the crossroads and write "Geng Shen on XX, Jia Zi on XX" as a warning. According to legend, this is related to the gods in the sky. These two days are the days when immortals come to earth to understand people's feelings. In order to keep the people clean and tidy, we are waiting for the arrival of the gods, and don't pick up dirty things on the road.

On the fifteenth day of junior high school

We should also avoid doing dirty work such as picking feces on the first and fifteenth day of the lunar calendar. Because the first and fifteenth days of the first lunar month are the days when people burn incense and worship Buddha, immortals and Buddhists should enjoy the incense and offerings of the world. In order to respect the gods and Buddhists, Buddhist believers are also forbidden to pick dung on these two days.
