The venue was originally located at Oil Street Yacht Club in North Point, Hong Kong. 1938, the club moved to Qili Island, a small island in the middle of Victoria Harbour. After World War II, the clubhouse reopened on September 1945. 195 1, a dam was built on the site and connected to Hong Kong Island. 1972 With the opening of the Hong Kong Cross-Harbour Tunnel, Qili Island, located at the exit side of the tunnel, became a part of Hong Kong Island after reclamation.
