Henan Opera is popular in more than ten provinces such as Henan, Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi, Hubei, Shaanxi, Gansu, Xinjiang and Taiwan Province. It is the largest local opera in China, ranking first among the local operas in China. On May 20th, 2006, with the approval of the State Council, Henan Opera was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage. Henan Opera, formerly known as "Henan Bangzi" and "Henan Gaoqiang", was developed from the middle and late Ming Dynasty on the basis of popular fashion in the Central Plains, absorbing artistic achievements such as "string rope". Because the early actors sang with their own voices, they turned up the ending tape with falsetto when they started to sing, which is also called "Henan Fu". After the founding of New China, on the basis of Henan Bangzi, it was officially renamed as "Henan Opera" through the continuous reform and innovation of several generations of old artists. 1980 held the "Report Performance of Henan Opera Schools", which gradually formed major Henan Opera schools, and many modern dramas and new historical dramas depicting real life appeared. This performance is of great significance, and five schools of Cuimaya, a Royal Guards, headed by Chang Xiangyu, have been established in terms of art and influence.
The role of Henan Opera consists of "being born ugly". Generally speaking, there are four students, four students, and four students draw faces. The troupe organization is also based on "four students, four Dan, four sides, four soldiers, four maids; Eight scenes, two boxes of officers and four handymen. " The "four students" are old students, big red faces (red life), two red faces (military life) and primary school students; "Four Danes" are Zheng Dan (Tsing Yi), Xiao Dan (Hua Dan, Guimendan), Lao Dan and Shuaidan. "Four Danes" are blackheads (vice clean), big faces, two faces and three faces (ugly).
The main musical instruments in the early stage of Henan Opera Band were Daxian (Octagonal Qin Yue, a performer and suona performer), Erxian (a bamboo or wooden piano barrel and a wooden tenor banhu) and Sanxian (a plucked instrument). In 1930s, Mr. Fan borrowed the accompaniment band of Shandong Bangzi and introduced Banhu. Sophomore strings were gradually abandoned, with tenor Banhu as the main string. Since the 1950s, erhu, pipa, bamboo flute, sheng, stuffy son and cello have gradually joined the general literary field. Some also added pendants and guzheng.
